- A full service thin-section preparation lab allows
for production of sections from core, outcrop samples, cuttings or any other
source.
- Samples can be impregnation with several types of blue dyed epoxy combined
with special staining techniques, including carbonate stain and feldspar staining,
provides rapid identification of mineralogy and pore systems.
- Rhodamine B epoxy (pink dyed epoxy) is also available and can be used in
conjunction with UV image analysis to highlight fractures not typically visible
with standard blue epoxy.
- Full petrographic analytical
microscopes (standard, UV and cathodoluminescence) are used in order
to document the thin-sections, using digital imaging.
